Role : Junior Graphic Designer

Job Location : Burnaby, BC

Pay Rate : $48,000 - $55,000

The Role :

As a member of the marketing team, the Junior Graphic Designer will support the Graphic Design Manager in creating deliverables for various media. Their main responsibilities include designing and updating marketing materials while ensuring adherence to the company's branding and visual guidelines. They must stay current with industry best practices, design trends, and continuously improve their software skills. Watson Gloves relies on the junior designer to produce high-quality materials under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.

YOUR core responsibilities :

Brand Consistency :

  • Understand the structure of the Watson Work and Watson Life visual identities and how they are executed across all media channels and touchpoints.
  • Ensure brand compliance with detailed Brand Guidelines, applying them across different platforms and materials, and suggest improvements when needed.
  • Uphold and reinforce Watson Gloves' brand standards across all marketing initiatives, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and tone.
  • Stay updated on design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas.
  • Ensure all design work aligns with the company's branding and visual identity guidelines.

Graphic Design :

  • Support the Graphic Design Manager with design tasks.
  • Design customer programs in English and French (using provided translations).
  • Create and update product guides, spec sheets, and application charts in both languages.
  • Create flyers, update tags, prepare print-ready files, and complete customer crossover programs and plan-o-grams.
  • Assist in designing the yearly calendar and editing product images.

Work efficiently to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.

What YOU BRING to Watson Gloves :

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in graphic design, visual arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 1 year of experience in graphic design.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Bilingual in English and French is a bonus but not required.
