Located in St. Albert, Alberta and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Junior Financial Accountant plays an important role in providing financial services to support the integrity of financial reporting of Canada ICI.

Education And Skills

  • Preferably 1+ years’ experience in full-cycle accounting.
  • Post-secondary Accounting Diploma or University degree required.
  • Strong team spirit, excellent communication, and a positive proactive approach to financial management.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and professional memberships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and ensure all tasks are completed on time and within company policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with all members of business and the finance team to identify effective financial controls.
  • Ensure professionalism in all aspects of work, dress code and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general accounting support throughout the full accounting cycle.
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records of financial transactions.
  • Work on the Finance Deal App (an internally developed deal tracker system) to ensure it is reconciled to the production reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile all employee expense reports and budgets.
  • Assist in all banking and cash flow management reports as required by the Finance Manager.
  • Ensure all financial reports are prepared in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE);
  • Assist in financial reporting, fiscal year ends and working papers as needed.
  • Assist with yearly budgeting as needed.
  • Assist in the annual audit as needed.
