Job summary

Halifax Regional Municipality invites applications for one temporary full-time Junior Environmental Professional to support HalifACT and climate action initiatives. Under the Manager of Climate Adaptation, you will work on resilience, infrastructure, and green initiatives within the Environment & Climate Change team.

The role requires a post-secondary degree, 1 year of related experience, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and databases.

Qualifications

Analytical thinking and strong communication skills.
Experience with data handling, reporting, and presentations.
Familiarity with environmental sustainability concepts and regulations.

Responsibilities

Undertakes research and provides technical and administrative support for HalifACT and other environmental work.
Develops and maintains databases related to environmental performance measurement.
Writes and prepares reports, presentations, and background material for senior management.
Assists in the preparation of Regional Council Reports and other public documents.
Builds positive public and private sector relationships and partnerships.
Collects, prepares, writes, and organizes public education and awareness information on environmental performance and climate action.
Liaises with environment-related partners and groups and supports consultants and contractors.
Assists with proposals, tender documents, reports, policies, and programs.
Liaises with other units and external agencies for data collection and reporting.
May perform other duties as assigned.
