Overview

Position

Junior Environmental EIT/GIT in our Mississauga, ON office.

Educational & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or geoscience from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for professional registration (GIT or EIT).
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in consulting) would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil classification, overburden and bedrock drilling methods, and soil, sediment, surface water and groundwater sampling protocols is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental site characterization and remediation, and groundwater and surface water monitoring programs.
  • Ability and interest to undertake extensive fieldwork, in a range of weather conditions, including working in remote locations.
Main Duties
  • Provide field and technical support to a wide variety of environmental projects; including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data collection, data analysis, and technical report writing and proposal preparation.
  • Design and conduct field investigations, including drilling and logging, test pitting, soil and bedrock characterization, monitoring well installation, hydraulic response testing, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling, and installation of groundwater instrumentation.
  • Assist intermediate and senior staff in preparing technical environmental reports including environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and 2) and excess soil reporting.
  • Interpretation and application of provincial and federal acts and regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Other duties as required.
Position Details
  • Contract until April 2026 with possible extension depending on performance.
  • 37.5 hours/week (varies with client workload).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
