We are currently looking for an organized and detail-oriented
Junior Engineering Professional, Project Management to support various Project Managers (PMs) in managing project-related administrative tasks and support medium to large scale engineering and construction projects. This person will assist with responsibility for projects of a diverse nature and provide support for clients in the execution of their most ambitious undertakings. The right person will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication and writing skills.
This position will be based in our Vancouver office.
Job Responsibilities
- Carrying out multidisciplinary coordination and follow-up with our clients in the realization of special large-scale projects
- Ability to engage with field presence and good communication skills with construction personal
- Proactively contributing to the search for solutions aimed at maximizing the quality and performance of projects
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers
- Identifying and monitor issues that may affect budgets and timelines within established milestones
- Liaise with clients, governments, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval processes and effective information exchange
- Perform a variety of cost/budget studies and research assignments, requiring analysis and interpretation of data.
- Monitor progress and performance against established terms of reference and Work Plans.
- Prepare, coordinate, and review contracts, Work Plans, reports, and documents. Obtain signoffs as required.
- Prepare PPT for clients and internal stakeholders for summary of projects
- Manage the process of calls for tenders, awarding and negotiation of construction and professional services contracts
- Assembling, and delivering construction contracts and professional scopes of work
- Assist PMs with monthly client invoices by logging, filing, checking rates, and preparing any supporting attachments for PM input.
- Review and format reports and technical memos, ensuring grammar and spelling accuracy and verifying the use of correct templates.
- Assist in opening, closing, and archiving projects, including document control and obtaining COI (Certificate of Insurance) and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) certificates.
- Provide occasional support with proposal preparation, ensuring proper formatting and content organization.
- Support Contract Administrators by assisting with the organization and management of construction documentation, including shop drawings, RFIs (Requests for Information), progress payment certificates, etc.
- Assist project managers by inputting project information into Microsoft Dynamic 365 ERP and CRM applications to ensure accurate project tracking and documentation.
Qualifications
- University Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on engineering design ICI design and construction projects.
- Having the ability to read and understand engineering plans and technical specification
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional initiative and attention to detail.
- Skills in work organization, priority management and an interest in teamwork in an environment that can change direction quickly
- Proficiency in project management software, including P6 Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects (asset).
- Sound professional judgment, initiative, and ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a fast passed, deadline oriented and dynamic environment.
- Experience with managing multi-discipline designs and construction projects (asset)
- Experience in bidding/negotiating contracts & developing strong career partnerships as well as business development skills (asset)
- Mobile and willing to travel for projects within the lower mainland but also outside across British Columbia.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic 365 ERP and CRM applications is a plus.
- Strong focus on accuracy and quality control in document preparation and formatting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The expected salary for this position is from $68,000 to $75,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
