Position Summary

Samsung Electronics Canada is seeking a passionate and driven Graduate (masters or undergrad) DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic telco core and cloud engineering team. You will be part of exciting 4G/5G deployment projects, working on cloud-native environments, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will participate in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining containerized applications and services within national mobile operator networks, design and build OpenStack and OpenShift lab infrastructure, develop scripts and tools to automate frequent tasks, and support the automation and CICD pipelines of telco network function deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining containerized applications and services within national mobile operator networks.
  • Design, build and administer OpenStack and OpenShift lab infrastructure to support all Samsung Networks teams.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate frequent tasks and monitor key resources.
  • Support the automation and CICD pipelines of telco network function deployments (4G/5G Core) on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud-native platforms like OpenShift.
  • Exposure to containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and basic shell scripting.
