We’re looking for a passionate and driven Graduate (masters or undergrad) DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic telco core and cloud engineering team. You will be part of exciting 4G/5G deployment projects, working on cloud-native environments, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines. This is a great opportunity to kickstart your career in a highly innovative and fast-evolving telecom environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Delivery:

  • Participate in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining containerized applications and services within national mobile operator networks.
  • Design, build and administer OpenStack and OpenShift lab infrastructure to support all Samsung Networks teams.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate frequent tasks and monitor key resources.
  • Support the automation and CICD pipelines of telco network function deployments (4G/5G Core) on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring minimal downtime.

Innovation:

  • Innovate and proactively contribute to the devops community with their ideas and improvements.
  • Learn and contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives (e.g., using Terraform, Ansible).

Team:

  • Individual contributions to the team are emphasized and requested.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve platform and application issues.
  • Customer interface for complex technical issues, new requests, features and software problems and manage internal communication with the local team and HQ R&D team.

Agile:

  • Maintain clear and updated documentation of systems, pipelines, and procedures.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to planning and delivery cycles.
  • Participate in regular project review meeting with customers.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements

Education:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud-native platforms like OpenShift.
  • Exposure to containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and basic shell scripting.

Experience:

  • Some experience or academic exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, GitLab).
  • Willingness to learn telco-specific technologies and protocols (e.g., EPC, 5GC).
  • A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
