Role Description

The Junior Delivery Engineer role provides foundational support in maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing basic platform/tooling and assisting in infrastructure automation tasks. This entry-level position is ideal for someone early in their DevOps journey who is eager to learn, grow and contribute within a collaborative, Agile engineering team.

The Junior Engineer will work under the guidance of more senior team members, gaining hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containerization technologies like Docker and continuous integration workflows. A strong willingness to learn, good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Delivery Engineering Team

Delivery Engineering is an internal platform team focused on building and improving systems to accelerate the delivery of software and infrastructure. Our team’s first target will be enabling DevOps practices due to its direct impact on the overall processes and culture.
The primary goal of Delivery Engineering is to build the “Golden Path” to production by automating and concentrating improvements around bottlenecks such as Integration points and handoffs. We will work closely with Development teams to break down silos, helping to build more resilient pipelines, continuously improve the delivery system and help with the adoption of better overall delivery practices/processes.
Currently reviewing the future possibility to become a fully supportive On-Call operational team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, any infrastructure automation and application deployment processes
• Focuses on the day-to-day supportability and maintenance of our tools and platforms
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, shadowing and learning from Mid and Senior-level Engineers
• Aligns to incident response processes, helping with root cause analysis and problem resolution during incident management sessions
• Take ownership and pride in the work delivered, ensure what is delivered is of quality and takes into account maintainability and supportability processes
• Promoting excellence in documentation and visibility by proactively equipping ourselves with the right tools like operating procedures (SOPs) and architectural diagrams
• Engage in platform modernization and DevEx improvement initiatives under guidance
• Understand the importance of and be a strong advocate for non-functionals eg. monitoring, alerting, logging

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in any DevOps, Platform or Delivery Engineering environment
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and basic infrastructure concepts through internships, academic projects or entry-level roles.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control practices.
• Any basic exposure to Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and any hands-on experience with tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Introductory knowledge of Docker (like Docker Engine, Docker Compose) and different containerized environments
• Helping in the supportability, including any Customer-facing communications, for all our Delivery Engineering platforms and tooling maintenance
• Basic scripting and automation practices desirable, like Python (or other language), Bash/Shell, YAML and including any Development frameworks
• Hands-on and practical knowledge of the Linux operating system for effective troubleshooting activities
• Awareness of any cloud infrastructure principles (like AWS, GCP or OCI), understanding basic principles of secure software delivery is a plus
• Familiar with Observability tools like Grafana or Prometheus, understanding the importance of giving the correct visibility to our platforms and environments
• We highly value ownership and initiative with capabilities to drive projects independently with an organized and mindful delivery timelines approach
• Dealing with changes on a daily basis in a very dynamic work environment
• Good communication and collaboration abilities, with responsibility and proactivity in seeking support or clarifications
