Job summary

TÜV SÜD is hiring a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer in Ontario to start a cybersecurity career, performing hands-on testing, vulnerability assessments, and security evaluations across IoT, medical devices, and industrial systems.

You will work with experienced professionals, develop skills in testing methodologies, and contribute to pre‑compliance activities while growing in a global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field; equivalent education/experience considered.
• Experience with penetration testing methodologies and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Programming knowledge in Python, C/C++, C# or similar.
• Familiarity with testing tools and Windows/Linux/mobile OS.
• Strong written communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, fuzz testing, and security reviews on connected products and systems.
• Support cybersecurity evaluations for IoT, industrial automation, and medical device technologies.
• Assist clients with cybersecurity certification preparation through workshops, training sessions, and pre-compliance activities.
• Conduct security testing across applications, networks, wireless environments, and embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities and potential exploitation paths.
• Review threat models and participate in cybersecurity risk assessments of products and technologies.
• Document testing results, vulnerabilities, and technical findings in clear and detailed reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, techniques, and industry best practices.

Junior Cybersecurity Engineer

In this entry-level role, you will gain hands‑on experience in cybersecurity testing, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security evaluations while working alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals.

Your Tasks

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may also be considered.
• Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies, vulnerability assessment techniques, and cybersecurity frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, PTES, or NIST.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with open‑source and commercial cybersecurity testing tools.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, and mobile operating systems.
• Strong written communication, analytical thinking, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders in a team environment.

• The anticipated annual base pay range for this full‑time position is $65,000-$75,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, and generous paid time off.
