Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to develop and oversee project controls, ensuring cost discipline across EPCM initiatives. You will implement EcoSys, train users, and collaborate with project managers to manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.

The ideal candidate has a engineering degree and at least one year in cost control, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel, Ecosys, Aconex Cost, Primavera P6, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 1+ year of cost control experience in large EPCM projects
• Strong understanding of project controls, cost allocation, and financial risk management
• Proficiency in Ecosys project controls software

Responsibilities

Your role

• Develop, implement, and maintain project controls systems, procedures, and standards to ensure effective cost management.

• Coordinate the implementation of the EcoSys cost control tool, including user training and ongoing support.

• Track, analyze, and report project expenditures against budgets and forecasts, including preparation of monthly cost reports, variance analyses, and dashboards.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project budgets, actual costs, forecasts, accruals, and cash flow projections.

• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, and procurement teams to update forecasts, evaluate change orders, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Support contract management and invoicing processes by reviewing invoices, monitoring accruals, and providing cost-related insights.

• Participate in project meetings to provide project controls updates and ensure compliance with internal project controls standards.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.

• min 1 year of experience in cost control, preferably in major EPCM projects.

• Strong understanding of project controls, cost allocation, and financial risk management.

• Proficiency in project controls software in Ecosys.

• Knowledge of Excel, Aconex Cost, Primavera P6, Power BI .

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $64,700 - $74,000 annually, applicable to Ontario and British Columbia) . Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
