Job summary

Elastic Path is seeking a Cloud Engineer I for a fixed-term 18-month parental leave cover. You’ll join a small team running a multi-tenant commerce platform across AWS regions in North America and Europe, contributing to building, testing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on AWS.

This role is remote-first and Canada-based, with collaboration across Cloud Operations and Development teams. You’ll gain production AWS and Kubernetes experience, real infrastructure-as-code fluency, and

Qualifications

• Solid Linux fundamentals and comfort with the command line.
• Docker experience required or strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Git and at least one scripting language (Python or Bash).
• Exposure to core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3) through work or projects.
• Methodical debugging instincts and clear written communication.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure for Elastic Path Commerce Cloud.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting tasks for reliability.
• Collaborate with Cloud Operations and Development teams to implement platform improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to support smooth and timely releases.
• Assist in infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform.
• Monitor resources, performance, and security, and propose optimizations.
