Job summary

TEEMA seeks a CAD Technician in the Richmond Hill area to support the Engineering & Projects team. The role focuses on producing drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks, updating documents, and coordinating CAD file management.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of CAD experience and a Diploma/Engineering degree or CET. Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical components, BOM creation, and experience with CSA/NEC standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in drafting or engineering (AS, BEng or CET).
• 3–5 years as CAD specialist producing drawings/models with SolidWorks.
• CAD certification is an asset.
• Experience with low/medium voltage power distribution equipment and cable management systems.
• Experience in 3D drawing.
• Knowledge of CSA/NEC standards is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Create, coordinate, update, and review drawings within the Engineering & Projects team.
• Support the project team by creating models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Specify electrical and mechanical components in drawings.
• Modify existing designs and drawings.
• Reverse engineer existing electrical systems to produce drawings.
• Produce BOMs and parts lists.
• Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models from input by engineers.
• Upload and maintain drawings in a document management system.
• Ensure CAD drawings meet quality standards and are up-to-date.
• Redesign drawings per markups and specifications.
• Translate hand drawings to CAD and interpret designs and drawings.
• Document and update all drawings and coordinate CAD file management.
