Summary

We are currently seeking a Junior Buyer to cover a maternity leave. This role supports the procurement team by assisting in purchasing goods and services, along with other duties listed below.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders for materials, services, supplies, and miscellaneous expenses upon request from Sr. Buyer, Engineering, and Plant Managers.
• Monitor AWC’s purchasing email inbox and delegate requests as needed.
• Track PO acknowledgment status and change requests in the Source Day platform.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Buyer and Estimating department to send Requests for Quotes to vendors.
• Maintain accurate data in the ERP system, including pricing, vendor details, and lead times.
• Coordinate monthly reviews of lead times and pricing with key vendors.
• Arrange logistics for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Assist Finance in allocating freight invoices.
• Review upcoming and overdue orders to ensure timely delivery and identify expediting needs, communicating delays internally.
• Maintain ISO documentation and external files for the Approved Supplier List.
• Monitor paint inventory bi-weekly across all sites.
• Review and approve VMI replenishment receipts for accuracy.
• Coordinate with QA to address quality rejections and manage replacements or credits.
• Support finance with investigations into PO pricing and quantity discrepancies.
• Participate in weekly Purchasing and Inventory meetings.

Requirements

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Visual ERP preferred).
• Familiarity with Source Day (an asset).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
