Job summary

Sunridge Auto in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an Automotive Apprentice Technician, 1st Year, to support the Service Department by performing entry-level vehicle maintenance and assisting senior technicians with basic repair tasks. This role focuses on developing foundational mechanical skills, learning OEM repair procedures within a professional dealership environment.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, mechanically inclined, and committed to progressing through the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

• Registered 1st Year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice (or eligible to register).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automotive systems and repair fundamentals.
• Ability to follow instructions, ask questions when needed, and work safely in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid top-ups, filter replacements, tire services, and battery tests.
• Assist senior technicians with routine mechanical and electrical repair tasks under direct supervision.
• Conduct basic inspections and document findings on repair orders.
