Job description

Join our team as a Junior Analyst, Corporate Development! In this role you’ll be collaborating with our Corporate Development Team assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets to achieve annual KPI’s including acquired EBITDA, IRR, and related targets. You’ll build strong relationships with internal teams and externally with vendor optometrists and their advisors.

We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary. Our Home Office is located in Calgary.

What Will You Be Doing?

  1. Supporting the management of deal flow during the valuation process, including but not limited to, preparing NDA’s, assisting with the due diligence and analysis, drafting offer presentations, and drafting term sheets.
  2. Assisting in financial modelling of acquisition opportunities.
  3. Managing and updating the CRM system with accurate data on leads, opportunities, and communications to ensure effective tracking and reporting of business development activities.
  4. Assisting in the sourcing and analysis of potential acquisition targets.
  5. Collaborating with the Business Development team to coordinate targeted outreach campaigns aimed at generating leads for mergers and acquisitions.
  6. Assisting in tracking the progress and outcomes of past acquisitions to evaluate their success and inform future strategic decisions.
  7. Proactively identifying and undertaking additional tasks, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the team.

As The Successful Candidate You Have:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Strong academic record with a degree in Business or Finance.
  3. M&A experience is an asset, through post-secondary education and/or working experience.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. Strong financial modelling skills and research skills.
  6. Knowledge of financial accounting, capital markets, and valuation concepts.
  7. Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
  9. Advanced communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).
  10. A desire to work towards a professional designation (CFA, CBV, CPA, etc.).
