Job summary

MSH is seeking a Junior AML Analyst to join its Compliance team in Canada. The role focuses on sanctions screening and onboarding activities for a 3-month period, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced regulatory environment.

You will review alerts, analyze risk, conduct research, and document decisions while adhering to AML policies. The position supports team needs and offers a hybrid work arrangement and health benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess alerts generated through sanctions screening systems.
  • Analyze screening results to determine whether alerts represent potential sanctions risks or false positives.
  • Conduct research and gather relevant information to support screening decisions.
  • Document investigations, findings, and decisions accurately in accordance with established procedures.
  • Escalate potential sanctions matches and higher-risk cases to senior Compliance team members for review.
  • Assist with reducing operational backlogs related to member onboarding and sanctions screening activities.
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards while managing assigned workloads.
  • Adhere to AML, sanctions, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Support additional compliance-related activities as required.

Are you looking to launch your career in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Compliance, or Financial Crime Prevention?

We are seeking a Junior AML Analyst to join our Compliance team and support critical sanctions screening and onboarding activities for 3-Months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in protecting organizations from financial crime and regulatory risk.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience reviewing sanctions alerts, analyzing potential risks, and supporting compliance operations in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Postsecondary education in Business, Finance, Economics, Criminology, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with large volumes of information.
  • Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or exposure to AML, KYC, Compliance, Fraud, Banking Operations, Insurance, or Financial Services.
  • Familiarity with sanctions screening or financial crime compliance processes.
  • Experience with screening tools such as World-Check, Dow Jones, or similar platforms.
  • Previous experience working in banking, insurance, fintech, payments, or other regulated industries.
