Job summary

Associated Engineering in Calgary is seeking a Junior Airport Designer to join our aviation team. You will engage with clients directly, support innovative airfield design, and contribute across concept through construction phases on Western Canada projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration, growth, and delivering high-quality solutions for public and private sector clients in the aviation sector.

Qualifications

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, PEGBC, NAPEG, Engineers Yukon, or eligible for registration.
  • 3+ years of progressive Civil Engineering experience for public and private sector clients with a focus on aviation.
  • Proven project management and business development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in preparing proposals, designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, and participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.
  • Advance projects from concept through design and construction phases; manage existing clients and develop new ones.
  • Deliver projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Act as a point of contact for all project-related client communications.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary project team on major aviation projects.
  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers and technologists.
  • Collaborate across teams and offices to support project success.

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Junior Airport Designer to join our team in our Calgary office. In this role the successful candidate will have experience engaging with clients directly in providing innovative design solutions in the aviation sector. Our current project portfolio includes major airfield expansion projects across Western Canada and the North. You will lead with a forward-thinking approach that promotes a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. You will provide technical expertise on projects for public and private sector clients with a focus on aviation related projects.

What you’ll be doing:

Does this sound like you?
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with any of the following: APEGA, PEGBC, NAPEG, Engineers Yukon, or eligible for registration.
