Job summary

Wattpad is hiring a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team in Toronto. You will be a key contributor in our accounts receivable cycle, partnering with vendors and employees to ensure policy compliance and smooth interactions.

You’ll bill and apply AR payments, perform reconciliations, support month-end and year-end closes, and collaborate with our US and Korea HQ teams. We offer a hybrid work model with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in AR/AP for a small/mid-sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities.
• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
• Understanding of deferred revenue and accrued revenue.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets experience.

Responsibilities

• Billing (sales orders & invoicing) administration in accordance with customer contracts.
• AR payment application and collections follow-up with customers.
• Conduct AR payment variance analysis and reconciliations.
• Ensure proper recognition of revenue and cost of sales per standards.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with US and Korea HQ consolidation and accounting teams.
• Deposit cheques to the bank and sort mail.
• Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
