Job summary

Beedie Capital, based in Vancouver, is seeking an early-career accountant to own day‑to‑day bookkeeping, AP/AR, cash management, and compliance work. The role offers mentorship from senior staff and exposure across the full accounting cycle within a scaling investment platform.

Ideal candidates are CPA candidates or those pursuing CPA, with 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience, and familiarity with NetSuite and AI tools to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Completed post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
• CPA candidate preferred, but not essential.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with accounting and tax software preferred; Oracle NetSuite is a strong asset.
• Solid computer skills across word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) or willingness to learn.
• Detail-oriented with a big-picture focus.
• Proactive and quick to learn in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization across deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with open, respectful communication.
• Trusted with sensitive information and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle bookkeeping in the GL, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general journals.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure transactions are posted/cleared within the period.
• Prepare journal entries and compile supporting documentation.
• Maintain related-party loan interest schedules.
• Process vendor payables and set up wire, ACH, and cash transfers accurately.
• Prepare monthly GST remittances.
• Support quarterly and annual financial procedures, including audits and budgeting.
• Support senior staff in preparing quarterly working papers.
• Assist with pro forma reporting.
• Run GL variance analysis and flag items for review.
• Coordinate processing of legal documents.
• Support ad hoc reporting for accounting and deal teams as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and working papers.
