Junior Accountant

Location: Vancouver, BC

Status: Permanent, full-time

Salary range: $50-55K Annually

Position Start Date: ASAP

Arbutus Properties is a leading property development company, offering a dynamic work environment, and a great opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of professionals.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Junior Accountant will work closely with the Project Management and Property Management team to fulfill day-to-day as well as recurring needs. The Junior Accountant is responsible for various accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation tasks. Prior experience is an asset but not required. We will provide full training for any assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process full cycle Accounts Payable
  • Direct liaison with Project Managers and Property Managers
  • Reconcile General Ledger
  • Prepare timely and accurate bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with sales tax return compilations
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliation schedule
  • Review expense reports and personal reimbursements
  • Assist with all year end working papers and relevant schedules
  • Other accounting duties as required.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Candidate must have excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism
  • Yardi experience is an asset
  • Works as a team player
