Job summary

Accerta is hiring a Junior Accountant to perform routine duties applying basic accounting principles within a hybrid work setup. The role centers on full cycle accounting for AR and AP, maintaining ledgers, and supporting the preparation of financial statements.

The successful candidate will have CPA track enrollment, 2–3 years’ related experience, and solid MS Office and ERP system skills, with a preference for healthcare/government sector exposure.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with CPA program enrollment and 2–3 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business.
  • Experience with SAP Concur-Expense and AP Essentials.
  • Healthcare and/or government sector experience is nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle accounting with core responsibility for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain AR records to ensure aging is up to date and credits/collections are applied.
  • Perform daily cash management duties including bank deposits and posting cash to AR sub-ledger.
  • Post a variety of accounting entries and maintain the billing system.
  • Prepare, analyze, and monitor journal entries, reconciliations, and GL reports.
  • Respond to inquiries and assist senior staff in preparing complex reports.

JOB TITLE:

Junior Accountant

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing routine duties requiring the application of basic accounting principles.

  • Full cycle accounting with core responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, and miscellaneous differences are reviewed and addressed.
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • Performs routine accounting work following established procedures, such as posting a variety of accounting entries, maintaining the billing system, and preparing invoices.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and monitors journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for General Ledger.
  • Monitors multiple mailboxes and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assists more senior staff in preparation of complex reports and financial statements.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education with enrollment in a professional accounting program (CPA) plus 2 to 3 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); and proficient use of MS Excel functions.
  • Experience with SAP Concur-Expense and AP Essentials is an

ANNUAL SALARY:

$60,000 – 70,000

PERFORMANCE BONUS:

Up to 6% of annual salary

FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENT:
