Job summary

A reputable electrical contractor in Toronto is seeking an energetic Accounting & Finance professional. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, support bookkeeping duties, and collaborate with the finance team for process improvements. Ideal candidates have a degree in Accounting or Finance and experience with Jonas Construction software, with a passion for advancing in their CPA designation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in Accounting.
• Experience using Jonas Construction software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for review of the general accountant.
• Complete daily bookkeeping duties.
• Support reconciliations across inter-company bank accounts and credit cards.
• Create and update financial reports.
• Provide backup support to colleagues in AP, AR, payroll and general accounting.
• Support special projects and ad-hoc requests for the finance team.
• Collaborate with the finance team and leadership to support system enhancements and process improvements.

As a passionate and energetic Accounting & Finance professional, you have a bit of experience under your belt through various co-op or other work experience, and you're looking for a place to expand your responsibility. Your previous colleagues might describe you as a "Jonas whiz", since you're a super user in the system. As you work towards your CPA (or equivalent) designation, you are excited for the chance to work across the entire finance function in a generalist role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare journal entries for review of the general accountant
• Complete daily bookkeeping duties
