Job summary

S3 Group Ltd. is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in a hands-on role across financial functions.

Reporting to the CFO, you will support reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow management, and day-to-day activities throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to continue developing accounting knowledge while collaborating with teams across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of accounting or financial experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to ask critical questions, verify information, and follow established processes.
• A self-motivated and self-directed approach to your work.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Enrollment in CPA program is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, analysis, and verification of accounting records, financial statements, and reports.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and complete General Ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Support cost and production accounting, including standard cost variance analysis, inventory analysis, and overhead allocation.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets.
• Complete and submit GST and PST returns.
• Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Help ensure financial transactions are current, accurately recorded, and efficiently processed.
• Record and process employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
• Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Work with departments and management across the organization to support accounting and financial needs.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.

What You'll Do
