Job summary

S3 Group Ltd. is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance team, based in Canada. This hands-on role provides exposure to a wide range of financial functions and reports to the CFO.

You will support reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow, and day-to-day accounting activities across the organization. Ideal candidates are analytical, organized, and eager to grow their accounting knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of accounting or financial experience.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and self-directed approach to work.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• CPA program enrollment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, analysis, and verification of accounting records, financial statements, and reports.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and complete General Ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Support cost and production accounting, including variance analysis.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets.
• Complete and submit GST and PST returns.
• Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Help ensure financial transactions are current and accurately recorded.
• Record and process employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
• Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Work with departments and management across the organization to support accounting needs.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.

This is an opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their experience in a hands‑on role with exposure to a wide range of financial functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Junior Accountant will support financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow management, and day‑to‑day accounting activities across the organization.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Two or more years of accounting or financial experience
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to ask critical questions, verify information, and follow established processes
• A self-motivated and self-directed approach to your work
• Proficiency with accounting software and MRP or ERP systems
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset
