Job Details

CPA accounting firm is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, assisting with personal and corporate tax filings, and providing insights through account analysis. The role involves working closely with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account verifications.
  • Utilize QuickBooks online and desktop for data entry and reporting.
  • Support CRA review processes with necessary documentation.
  • Analyze accounts and prepare financial performance reports.
  • File GST/HST with CRA and GST-QST with Revenue Quebec.
  • Handle WSIB filings and payroll processing using QuickBooks.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and tax filings for clients.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve accounting procedures.
  • Maintain organized financial records.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to maintain positive relationships.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Fluency in English; French is an asset.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (online and desktop); Xero and Pro-advisor certification are assets.
  • Degree in bookkeeping or accounting is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of financial services and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage responsibilities independently.
  • Strong organizational skills for record keeping.

  • Salary: From $60,000/year, negotiable based on experience.
