Job description

Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will focus on providing financial and administrative services within the Finance Department. This includes processing and monitoring a high volume of transactions within a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, permanent role has an annual salary range of $45,000 to $48,800, with 100% employer-paid benefits. The final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work in a hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Do

  • Record daily bank transactions.
  • Complete all bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Update daily cash reports and send to management.
  • Work closely with the Box Office to investigate ticket sales discrepancies or returned payments.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounting inboxes by responding to inquiries, uploading invoices and examining customer statements.
  • Complete various tasks at month end within strict deadlines.
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external requests for information.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with year end external audits.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What’s Needed

  • A degree or college diploma in Accounting or other related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience with experience in bank reconciliations considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Great-Plains is considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized with outstanding administrative and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Working towards CPA designation considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
