Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our organization as a permanent full-time Junior Accountant!

Responsibilities

  • Daily bank reconciliation.
  • Post inter-company invoice entries.
  • Respond to AP inquiries from vendors/suppliers and staff.
  • Assist in monthly Blackline reconciliations.
  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of various management reports, including daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests.
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries as needed, based on monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.
  • Provide accounting expertise in the continuous improvement of current business processes and in the formulation of new processes.
  • Identify and report operational issues affecting the Business Unit's results.
  • Reconcile and report variances of estimated operational results to actual.
  • Report details of reconciling items and prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary.
  • Prepare weekly employee expense entries (Concur).
  • Record depreciation expenses in the general ledger.
  • Assist AR in resolving cash application issues and process improvements.
  • Prepare sales tax returns and requisitions for payments.
  • Maintain general ledger schedules.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly expense accruals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Post-secondary accounting education with a view towards a professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum of 2+ years related work experience.
  • Experience with relational database systems and proficiency with Windows-based applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
  • Ability to ensure accurate and efficient completion of financial requirements within deadlines and IFRS standards.
  • Ability to provide meaningful information to management for timely decision-making.
  • Effective interaction skills at all organizational levels.
  • Innovative, self-motivated, well-organized team player.
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in Concur Expense (an advantage).
  • Experience with AS400 (an advantage).
  • Experience with PowerBi (an advantage).
