Responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger and departments.
  • Assist with daily accounting activities, including invoice entry, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing.
  • Maintain records and reconcile accounts through general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and file T2 corporate tax returns in compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate T2 tax filings to avoid penalties.
  • Prepare and file HST/GST returns, keeping up-to-date with tax legislation.
  • Respond to tax-related inquiries from internal teams, auditors, or government agencies.
  • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate with tax professionals to ensure CRA compliance and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA Candidate preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate taxation, focusing on T2 returns and compliance.
  • Experience with tax audits and online research tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; quick learner of new software.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of invoices and payments efficiently.
