Job summary

Peripheral is seeking a Junior Fullstack Software Engineer to help build the viewing experience for our 3D reconstructions, across web, mobile and native platforms, via a shared rendering engine.

You’ll join the product/platform team to optimize data streaming, UX, and visualization, and push performance across devices. A background in game engines and 3D rendering will help you translate data into fast, polished visuals.

Qualifications

• Experience building with a game engine (Unity/Unreal or a custom engine).
• Strong understanding of 3D geometry and rendering fundamentals.
• Experience with graphics rasterization on CUDA, Metal, WebGPU, or similar.
• Experience with data streaming and optimization for large binary data.
• Experience with UX and design across web, desktop, and mobile.
• Legal right to work in Canada and willingness to relocate to Toronto for in-office role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the client-side viewing experience across web, mobile, and native platforms.
• Optimize the data streaming pipeline delivering spatial and video data.
• Own the UX and visual design of the viewing experience across platforms.
• Work with 3D geometry and spatial data to render accurate views of reconstructed scenes.
• Prototype multiple approaches to open problems quickly and evaluate them honestly.
• Collaborate with the Reconstruction team to understand data formats and render outputs.
• Debug and optimize end-to-end performance across platforms.
