Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of culinary experience required.
  • Previous supervisory kitchen experience is an asset.
  • Food Safety certification (training provided if needed).

We’re seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to join us at Balkan! Fresh Mediterranean in the heart of Banff. From fresh pita wraps to mouthwatering souvlaki & plenty of vegetarian options, prepare your taste buds for fun & flavourful Mediterranean dishes paired perfectly with vibrant cocktails and fruity spirit-free drinks. What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Chef in leading and mentoring the kitchen team
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency meet company standards
  • Oversee food preparation, organization, and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and ensure supplies are on time and within budget
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and compliance with safety regulations
  • Train staff and foster a strong team culture

What You Have:

  • 2-3 years of culinary experience required
  • Previous supervisory kitchen experience is an asset
  • Food Safety certification (training provided if needed)
  • Understanding of kitchen procedures and staff training best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
  • Proven team player with a talent for uniting and motivating others
  • Excellent communicator who values a positive workplace culture
  • Flexible schedule required
