This position will be focused on Quality/Scanning/Record keeping and Mechanical Design. The breakup will be 40% Mechanical Design and 60% Quality/Scanning, which will encompass utilizing advanced 3D scanning technologies and software to inspect parts and assemblies. The Mechanical Design portion will be part of designing custom automated systems.

Quality:

1. Conduct part and assembly inspections using advanced 3D technology for high precision and accuracy of measurements.
2. Utilize 3D scanning technology and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), especially for complex parts and assemblies.
3. Identify and analyze key features of parts for precise and accurate measurements.
4. Compare and analyze data against original CAD models.
5. Perform GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) alignment and inspection.
6. Assess part compliance and identify potential issues during the inspection process.

Mechanical Design:

1. Develop and design custom machinery and automation systems, including fixtures and components for project-specific applications.
2. Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and NX to create 3D models and revise designs based on project requirements and customer feedback.
3. Conduct design simulations to validate functionality, performance, and safety using design simulation tools.
4. Design and implement safety systems for robotics cells and machinery to ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
5. Develop SolidWorks revisions, create a toolbox, and manage the CAD library for both purchased and manufactured parts.

Experience and Education:

1. Previous experience with 3D modelling software is an asset.
2. Experience with PolyWorks considered an asset.
3. A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
4. Experience with Hexagon scanner considered an asset.
