This role resides within the V&E group at MaRS. V&E works with over 1400 innovation-driven science and technology startups. V&E helps entrepreneurs commercialize innovations with high business growth potential in Canada and globally by facilitating access to the customer talent funding marketing and stakeholder connections required to successfully scale their business.

About the Position

In this role the Jr. Analyst will work closely with the MaRS Market Intelligence (MI) team as well as other MaRS teams / partners to deliver high-impact market research projects that support the launch growth and scaling of innovative ventures.

The Jr. Analyst will also collaborate with the MI team to understand venture clients needs and develop research assets and tools that enhance service offerings and improve overall client experience.

This is a 1-year contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and lead the successful delivery of high-impact market research projects focused on venture clients research needs addressing challenges related to market sizing market trends customer insights investment strategies and competitive or partner landscapes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies frameworks and methodologies that elevate the teams market research capabilities. Work with the MI team and other teams to iterate on product offerings improve client experiences and support venture growth.
• Ensure timely and detailed reporting and documentation of client projects in Salesforce Asana and other relevant platforms. Contribute to internal projects as needed.
• Occasionally take on special projects for strategic partners and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree
• Masters Degree and / or Market Research Certificate is an asset
• 0-1 years of experience in scoping and designing research projects drafting project proposals executing market research studies and managing project timelines
• Knowledge and interest in Software & Emerging Technologies (e.g. FinTech EdTech Cybersecurity Semiconductors AI Digital Health Enterprise SaaS)
• Experience working in a startup market research and / or within a consulting environment
• Passionate about entrepreneurship innovative technology and market research
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced evolving environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients
• Strong communication skills
• Familiar with primary and secondary research methods
• Strong written verbal and presentation skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Understanding and interest of one sector with a great sense of curiosity
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
