Reporting to the Manager of Economic Development and Tourism, the Administrative Assistant Summer Student will play a key role in keeping our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, department website, and online business directory up to date, assisting with economic development initiatives, and providing front desk reception coverage.

The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in updating the CRM Platform and online business directory. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service to visitors. The successful incumbent will also provide back-up coverage at the Port Stanley Visitor Centre as needed. This role requires self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently following the training period.

Hours of Work: Approx. 35 hours per week – hours will vary including weekends.

Effective: May 1, 2025 to August 29, 2025 (*Subject to Grant Approval*)

Salary: Minimum Wage

Qualifications:

  1. Must have own transportation with a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license and clear Ontario Driver Abstract.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  3. Proficiency with CRM systems, databases, and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  4. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of post-secondary education (Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field preferred).
  6. Previous experience in administrative support or customer service roles.
  7. High level of comfort making phone calls and engaging with business representatives.
