Position Overview

Reporting to the Team Leader – Fixed Plant Maintenance and working two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati Mine site, this role will be responsible for surface pipefitting and fabrication within Fixed Plant Maintenance.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements;
2. Able to scope and estimate jobs material and labor requirements;
3. Work with pipes and fabrication sections of piping systems, assist with welding and alignment tasks;
4. Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines;
5. Support and assist Fixed Plant Millwrights with piping modifications and repairs;
6. Test systems for leaks, using testing equipment;
7. Coordination of work with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, mining, etc.;
8. Ad Hoc project estimating, and providing feedback to planners with the estimates;
9. Experience in an industrial setting, preferably mining;
10. Complete shift work on both days and nights.

Education/Experience

1. Journeyperson certification in Pipefitting;
2. Minimum of five years’ experience;
3. Experience in an industrial setting, preferably mining;
4. Complete shift work on both days and nights;
5. Be able to work at heights.
6. Preference given to dual trade JP Plumber.

Additional Information
