Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, and bolting up valves and fittings.
  2. Performs bolt up, rigging, and hydro testing.
  3. Assembles and installs piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications.
  4. Works safely in a team environment, such as working with a crew of pipefitters or with a welder.
  5. Performs physically demanding tasks such as cutting openings for pipe while standing for extended periods and securing pipe in hard-to-reach areas.
  6. Uses testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.

Qualifications:

  1. Must have a Journeyperson Pipefitter ticket or be a registered Pipefitter Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority.
  2. Minimum 3+ years of experience on industrial construction or pipeline projects.
  3. Successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
  4. BSO (Basic Safety Orientation) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation) are assets.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
  6. Proficient in punching hydro test packages.

Work Conditions:

  1. 14 days on, 7 days off rotational shift working 10-hour days.
  2. Camp-based accommodations provided for non-local candidates.
  3. Extended Health & Wellness Benefits provided by CLAC Alberta.
  4. Chartered Flights are NOT provided.
  5. Travel Allowance for non-locals is provided; candidates are responsible for arranging their own flights/transportation to and from camp.
