Cooper Equipment Rentals in Maple Ridge, BC, is seeking a Journeyperson or Apprentice Gas Fitter. You will install, inspect, repair and maintain heating equipment (NG/LP) for residential, commercial, and industrial sites, work with regulators, test for gas leaks, and prepare service reports.

Journeyperson ticket is an asset; apprenticeship program completion required. On-site role with overtime opportunity.

• Must have completed at least one year of a Gas Fitter apprenticeship program.
• Journeyperson ticket is an asset.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair a variety of heating equipment.

Perks!*** Competitive salary, with overtime available* Excellent benefit package with premiums paid by the company* Tool allowance* Uniform, safety boots/shoes, safety gear provided* RRSP Match* Safety-minded organization* Stable, year-round employment* Continuous training, learning and development opportunities* Fun-loving work environment with strong social responsibility**What You’ll Be Doing***Duties and Responsibilities:** Installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of heating equipment both NG and LP. also working with regulators and heating units in residential, commercial and industrial establishments.* Testing and replacement of defective heating equipment.* Be able to work alone with direction from Journeyman Gasfitter.* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with a wide variety of customers and internal resources.* Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment.* Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves, and automatic controls.* Test and replace defective equipment or components.* Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.* Attend to gas escape calls.* Prepare reports on work performed and condition of equipment.* Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems.* May repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.* Check equipment for damage upon return, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle.**What You’ll Bring to the Team***Qualifications and Requirements:** Must have completed at least one year of a Gas Fitter apprenticeship program.
