Job summary

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is seeking Millwright Journeypersons to support the BHP Wetmill SMPEI project in Leroy, SK. The role involves maintenance, assembly, and equipment reliability on site, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Camp accommodations are provided; travel allowances apply. Pre-employment screening is required. The successful candidate will mentor apprentices and uphold Aecon's zero injury culture.

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or equivalent.
• CSTS-20 Certificate and fall protection training.
• Mewp and confined space training completed.

Responsibilities

• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts; attach motors and belts.
• Align and test equipment and adjust.
• Perform preventive and operational maintenance and part replacements.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC systems.
• Tack welding and fabrication; maintain parts inventory.
• Document work thoroughly and ensure high quality field execution.
• Mentor apprentices and oversee safety on site.
• Operate rig equipment and move heavy machinery.

Position Overview

ACEO Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. ACSI is seeking Millwright Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and maintain equipment. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to the safe operation of equipment on the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
• Align and test equipment and adjust.
• Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts.
• Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls.
• Tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
• Perform field work to a high quality and provide thorough follow up with proper and efficient documentation of work.
• Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for a wide range of Instrumentation and control equipment, such as Hydraulic operated valves, various pressure and flow measurements, radiation density Gauges, Radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, Computerized control systems.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
• Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts.

Requirements And Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket
• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Fall Protection – In Class
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform – In Class
• Confined Space – In Class
• Experience as a Millwright in an industrial construction environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.

Location: Leroy, SK

Rate: $51.00 per hour

Overtime: As per Collective Agreement

Schedule: 14/7, 11 hour days

Allowances: Per prejob, Travel allowance based on proof of residency

Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen.
