We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Red Seal Journeymen Millwright to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems across our facility. The ideal candidate has in-depth mechanical knowledge, precision, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and equipment reliability.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans and specifications
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, and other mechanical systems
- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions using testing and measuring equipment
- Ensure proper calibration and alignment of machinery components
- Weld, fabricate, and assemble metal components when required
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve machine efficiency and safety
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in industrial mechanics or millwrighting, including demonstrated mechanical aptitude (e.g., automotive or heavy-duty mechanics)
- Fluent in English, with proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Solid understanding of industrial safety standards, food safety protocols, and environmental compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication
- Team-oriented mindset with high personal accountability and professionalism
- Flexible availability, including willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations
- Physically able to work in varying conditions, including exposure to noise, odours, and dust
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
- Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights within the facility
- Good near/far, depth perception, and colour vision
- Able to walk or stand on hard indoor surfaces for up to 8 hours per shift
- Required to wear protective gear such as rubber boots, wetsuits, gloves, and respirators as needed throughout the day
- Required to wear hard hats, gloves, and ear/eye protection, including hearing and respiratory protection devices
