Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Electrician

Job Overview: Greenstone Mine, which began production in May 2024, is one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with an expected annual production of nearly 400,000 ounces of gold over an initial 14-year mine life, with potential for extension from a large underground deposit. Owned by Equinox Gold Corp, Greenstone Gold Mines LP operates multiple mines across the US, Mexico, and Brazil.

We are seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, this role involves repairing, overhauling, and building new mining equipment, employing diagnostic reasoning and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on heavy mining equipment as per schedule.
• Diagnose faults using computerized or testing equipment to determine repair needs.
• Recommend repair approaches and suggest improvements.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Complete reports and paperwork related to job tasks.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.

Job Conditions

• Proficiency in English required.

• Motivated, self-directed, and able to work in challenging conditions.

• Position based in Geraldton, Ontario.
