Position Overview:
Finning Canada is seeking passionate and field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal preferred) to join our team, responsible for servicing our customers in and around Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast. In this role, you will be accountable for troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar equipment in the field (Langdale to Egmont).

We are looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics who prefer an environment of independence and autonomy. You must have proven field experience, with an expectation of immediate positive impact for our customers.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs in a field environment
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Interprovincial Red Seal preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician (field experience preferred)
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Experience with Power Systems and/or Marine equipment is an asset.
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Previous gas engine and power generation experience wouldbe considered an asset

This role will be working in the field, primarily in Sechelt and surrounding area.

Note: Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
