Job summary

Virden Truck & Trailer seeks a skilled heavy‑duty mechanic to diagnose, service and repair trucks and trailers in our shop. The successful candidate will perform inspections, routine servicing and maintain thorough records, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Truck/Transport Mechanic, Level 3 or 4.
• Ability to work safely following established safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn new skills, adapt to changing needs and take direction.
• Possess a strong work ethic and be consistently punctual.
• Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple concurrent work orders.
• Ability to lift up-to 23 kg (50 lbs.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to communicate in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and diagnostics on heavy duty trucks, trailers, engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, and hydraulic systems
• Conduct routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
• Maintain tools and area of work in a clean organized fashion.
• Other duties as assigned
