Qualifications

Position Overview:

Finning Canada is looking for passionate Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal preferred) to join our team based out of our Kamloops on a 7x7 Continuous Shift. Our Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar equipment, and service machinery for the biggest players.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems are considered assets
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset

Note:

  • This is a position based out of our Kamloops branch on a 7x7 Continuous Shift
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
