Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon ‘zero injury’ culture.

ACSI is seeking experienced Crane Operator Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success. Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Crane Operator is responsible for safety and efficiently operating a mobile crane to life and move heavy materials at our Mod Yard.

Key Responsibilities

  • May drive the crane to the job site, rig the machine up (pin the boom and pendant cables and pull the hoist cable in preparation for operation).
  • Set up the machine for the lift (i.e., make it level and stable) using blocking and leveling materials.
  • Journeyperson may mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
  • Operators manipulate many pedals and levers to rotate the crane and raise and lower its boom and one or more load lines.


Requirements And Experience

  • CSTS-20 Certificate
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform
  • Fall Protection
  • Experience as a Crane Operator in an industrial construction environment.
  • Proven ability to operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.


Project: Dow TR4

Location: Fort Saskatchewan

Rate: $50.00 per hour

Overtime: As per Collective Agreement

Schedule: 5 on 2 off, 10 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours on Friday.
