Job summary

Strike Group is seeking a Journeyperson B-Pressure Rig Welder for work in High Level, Alberta. You will weld pipe spools and components to strict client specs while adhering to Strike’s safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Journeyperson certificate, ABSA Grade B Pressure Welder, and CWB certification, with willingness to travel to sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Journeyperson certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
• Must hold ABSA Grade ‘B’ Pressure Welder certificate.
• Must be CWB certified.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with NDT Inspectors.
• Carry out repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
• Weld pipe spools in accordance with client specs and Strike procedures.
• Monitor parts usage and report material issues.
• Interpret Acorn drawings accurately.

Journeyperson B-Pressure Rig Welder

Location: High Level, Alberta, T0H 1Z0

Position Summary

Journeyperson B-Pressure Rig Welders work in both shop and field-based settings on projects that include joining components such as beams, girders, vessels, and piping. They ensure all jobs are completed according to welding procedure specifications, weld maps, and work packages. Our welders take pride in their trade and ensure Strike’s high standards of safety and quality are always met.

Core Accountabilities

• Work collaboratively with Non-Destructive Testing Inspectors
• Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
• Perform welding of pipe spools with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and Strike’s weld procedures
• Monitor parts usage and report any material issues
• Interpret Acorn drawings accurately

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority
• Must possess an ABSA Grade ‘B’ Pressure Welder certificate
• Must be CWB certified

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to travel to various work sites
• Ability to interpret Acorn drawings
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions
