Surepoint is seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Instrumentation Technician with a strong background in industrial maintenance. This local Grande Prairie position requires residency or commutable distance to AB and offers a Monday-to-Friday or 8/6 shift with overtime opportunities.

You will execute PMs, calibrations, and diagnostics on instrumentation, control systems, and life-safety devices, while mentoring apprentices and ensuring reliable facility operations.

• Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician designation is required.
• Strong background in industrial maintenance, turnaround execution, and daily facility operations.
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with control loops and fault diagnosis.
• Valid safety tickets (H2S Alive, First Aid, Common Safety Orientation) preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on instrumentation, control systems, and final control elements.
• Diagnose, isolate, and repair loops, network faults, and equipment malfunctions for optimal runtime.
• Calibrate, test, and configure electronic, pneumatic, and digital instruments with advanced test equipment.
• Maintain and test life-safety systems including Gas, LEL, and Fire Detection controllers and sensors.
• Support process control infrastructure including compressor panels, RTUs, BMS, and related production equipment.
• Provide mentorship to apprentices and share best practices for maintenance and safe isolation procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) programs and calibration schedules on facility instrumentation, control systems, and final control elements.
• Diagnose, isolate, and repair complex loops, communication network faults, and equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal facility runtime.
• Calibrate, test, and configure electronic, pneumatic, and digital instruments using advanced test equipment and tools like HART Communicators.
• Maintain, function-test, and calibrate critical life-safety systems, including Gas Detection, LEL Detection, and Fire Detection controllers and sensors.
• Support and optimize process control infrastructure including compressor panels, RTUs, BMS, line heaters, and related production equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to apprentices, sharing best practices for maintenance precision and safe work isolation procedures.

What You Need To Succeed

• Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician designation is required.
• Strong background in industrial maintenance, turnaround execution, and daily facility operations.
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with a deep understanding of process loops, loop tuning, and control logic.
• Valid industry safety tickets (H2S Alive, First Aid, Common Safety Orientation) are highly preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized with a proactive approach to asset reliability and maintenance documentation.
