Job summary

Kibbi in Clarenville, NL is seeking a skilled carpenter for seasonal work and ongoing projects across various sites. You will measure, cut, assemble and install wood, wood substitutes, and other materials, and help build foundations, floors and walls.

You will instruct apprentices and maintain residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals and industrial sites, working 40–60 hours weekly in outdoor, noisy environments. Valid driver’s license and own transportation required.

Qualifications

• Experience with carpentry tasks including framing and finishing.
• Experience reading plans and measuring materials.
• Strong safety mindset and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Instruct apprentices
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various sites.
