Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Welder, you will be responsible for the safe maintenance of our 2,500 HP Shredder.

This role is based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The Team

You will work on one of a handful of 2500HP Shredders in Western Canada.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday.

A Day in The Life
  • Being responsible for maintenance and inspection of shredders.
  • Performing the safe operation of tools and related equipment for the purposes of welding and fabrication.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Recognizing defective welds, knowing the cause, and repair procedure for the defective area.
  • Fusing metals safely and effectively using prescribed welding applications.
  • Performing tasks in accordance with industry quality and production standards.
  • Helping with facility maintenance and clean-up as required.
  • Cleaning and performing preparation of work-sites for safe operation of equipment.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Journeyman Welder from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Air arc and stick welding repair experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ previous experience in a similar role.
  • Complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving containers and other heavy materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear manner.
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds, and able to work on feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
