Job description

  • We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Welder who will be responsible for welding various components as new projects come in, primarily focusing on high-quality aluminum welding using wirefeed and TIG techniques. The role involves reading blueprints, fabricating objects in batches (5-20 objects per run), and potentially impacting the steel operations within the facility. Projects may include pipe shoes, steel stairs, I-beams, car camper attachments, and more, welding smaller components ranging from 10 to 100 pieces using mild steel, aluminum, and TIG.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality aluminum welding using wirefeed and TIG techniques.
  • Read and interpret blueprints for fabrication projects.
  • Fabricate objects repeatedly in batches of 5-20 objects.
  • Weld various steel components including pipe shoes, stairs, I-beams, and car camper attachments.
  • Work with smaller components ranging from 10 to 100 pieces using mild steel and aluminum.
  • Proficiency in fabrication, TIG, MIG, flux core, and metalcore welding.
  • Experience as a journeyman welder, with potential consideration for 2nd or 3rd-year apprentices.
  • CWB certification in flat and horizontal welding.
  • Ability to read manufacturing blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with sit-down counterbalance (certification available onsite).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in assembly, stainless steel, and production using hand tools.

The work environment is a small, clean, and organized shop. The shift is Monday to Thursday, Days, with casual dress code and required PPE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00 / hr.
