Job summary

Manitoulin Transport is seeking a skilled mechanic to perform regular maintenance and complete required paperwork on trucks, vans, and trailers. Responsibilities include brakes, axles, chassis components, lighting, and emissions systems repair, plus welding as needed.

You will also maintain shop cleanliness, support additional tasks, and ensure timely attendance on scheduled shifts. Valid Class 5 and CVIP licenses are required; tool allowance is provided and opportunities for growth exist.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license.
• Valid CVIP license.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance on trucks and vehicles (5 tons, vans, flat decks and converter dolly's).
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and related parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair emissions, electrical and lighting systems.
• Repair or replace chassis components including springs, hangers, axles and air system parts.
• Repair or replace bumpers, dolly legs and related components requiring welding or cutting.
• Repair or replace flooring, panels and structural rails as needed.
• Keep personal area clean and assist with additional tasks; adhere to shift schedule.
