Job Title: Journeyman RV Technician
Job Location: Calgary
Employment Status: Seasonal Full time or Part time
Reports to: Station Manager/Supervisor or Service Manager
Position Summary
The RV Technician is a key member of CanaDream’s service team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our Guest and Customer sales fleet.
In this role, the RV Technician will conduct comprehensive examinations of recreational vehicles (RVs) to identify any issues that may affect their functionality or safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, and manufacturers’ specifications to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
- Disassemble, inspect, and identify necessary parts, then reassemble components to meet factory specifications.
- Conduct operational tests on engines, including road testing vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
- Identify and process warranty claims, coordinating necessary repairs to meet warranty standards.
- Assist guests with on-road issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Install various RV accessories, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
- Deliver comprehensive guest and customer service, addressing their needs from initial contact through to resolution.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections on guest RVs to ensure all systems are operational and meet quality standards.
- Execute duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
- Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, manufacturers, guests, and customers.
- Accurately complete work orders and timecards.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Skill Set, Education and Experience
- Professional Certification: Must be a qualified RV Technician or possess equivalent experience.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Propane Certification: Must be certified to operate a propane pump.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in RV preventative maintenance.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude.
- Customer Focus: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Skills: Proficiency in basic math and computer skills.
- Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Working Conditions
- Employment Type: Seasonal Full time or Part time.
- Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Shift Work: Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Safety Equipment: The use of safety equipment is mandatory.
